Dear Colleagues,

Please read Issue 58 of the report on informal cross border food trade among selected countries in Southern Africa. This covers observed monthly trends, as well as cumulative (April 2009 - March 2010) informal trade flows in maize, rice and beans at selected border points in the DRC, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  A brief analysis of informal trade flow trends since monitoring began in 2004/05 and some key food security implications of the trends for the current 2009/10 season are also provided.
